About the Role

Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector is currently recruiting for a locum Childcare Lawyer to join a local authority based in the East Midlands. The role will be for an initial 3-month period with a strong possibility of this being extended.

Key Responsibilities
  • To act as a legal advisor and provide expert guidance on childcare law.
  • Advise upon and conduct proceedings relating to the care and protection of children, ensuring the best interests of the child are paramount.
  • To provide legal advice and support services to clients, including those involved in childcare proceedings.
  • To carry a caseload of predominantly public childcare care proceedings, managing complex cases with sensitivity and expertise.
  • To advocate, when necessary, at the family courts, presenting cases with confidence and authority.
Working Arrangements

The role will be a hybrid working arrangement, with the requirement to attend family courts in the East Midlands at in-person hearings twice per month.
