Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Tank Farm operations at our Girvan Distillery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our tank farm, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Execute operational plans in line with company objectives, ensuring alignment with business unit goals.
  • Budget Management: Manage tank farm budgets, including variable and fixed costs, to maximize functional benefit.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including H&S, Environmental, and Customs regulations.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team, promoting employee engagement and driving behavioral and process change.
  • Process Improvement: Implement best practice processes and procedures, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Lead and support improvement projects, ensuring ownership and knowledge transfer.
  • Planning and Resource Management: Develop robust planning processes, supporting improved operating costs and efficient resource management.
  • Employee Development: Lead, motivate, and develop the team in line with company values.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrate behaviors aligned with our diversity and inclusion aim, promoting a diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Key Performance Metrics: Manage all spirit supply activities, ensuring compliance with HMRC, ADR, environmental legislation, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO14001 requirements.
  • Quality and Delivery: Achieve OTIF delivery requirements, meeting spirit specification and quality needs, and managing inventory accuracy and positive release processes.
  • Volume and Cost Management: Manage budgeted output of tankers per man hour, developing budgets and managing operations within required costs.
  • Continual Improvement: Maintain housekeeping standards, achieving required 5S scores, and using structured problem-solving methodologies for continual improvement.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leader with experience in setting objectives, performance managing a team, and developing individuals.
  • Technical Operations: Experience in technical operations, with knowledge and experience in relevant areas of H&S legislation, HMRC compliance, continuous improvement, and best practice initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Experience of managing multiple cost centre budgets.
  • Process Infrastructure: Knowledge of process infrastructure.
