Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Domestic Assistant to join our team at Girvan Community Hospital. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a wide range of domestic services to support clinical services throughout Ayrshire and Arran, adhering to NHS Scotland's National Cleaning Services Specification and Healthcare Environment Inspectorate Standards.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment and work in a healthcare setting, with full training provided.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Undertake departmental job training, including the operation of equipment and safe use of cleaning materials, to ensure flexibility and adaptability in all areas of domestic services.
  • Be proficient in and undertake training in Departmental Risk Assessments (COSHH, General, Moving and Handling), Correct and economical use of materials and equipment, and security procedures.

Requirements:

  • Good communication, verbal or otherwise, and practical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
