Job Title: Senior Registered Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse to join our clinical team at Chestnut Tree House, a children's hospice providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

About the Role

As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership and support to our team while delivering high-quality care to our patients and their families. You will be responsible for managing a small team of junior nurses and care support workers, ensuring the provision of excellent clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the team
  • Manage a small team of junior nurses and care support workers
  • Deliver high-quality care to patients and their families
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to the development of new workstreams and initiatives
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience in a band 5 registered nursing role, including palliative care and nursing children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge, with a full set of up-to-date clinical competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, transferable within a range of professional and family situations
  • Ability to plan and deliver safe and effective clinical care in collaboration with parents/carers/young people
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to adapt and reprioritise at short notice
  • Ability to critically analyse research and promote and disseminate relevant findings in practice
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in supporting students on placement as a supervisor or practice assessor
  • Competent IT skills
