About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Nurse to join our clinical team at St Barnabas Hospices. As a Senior Nurse Leader, you will provide leadership and support to our team while delivering specialist palliative care to children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the team in delivering high-quality palliative care.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with parents, carers, and young people.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Supervise and mentor junior nurses and care support workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a band 5 registered nursing role, including palliative care and nursing children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge, with a full set of up-to-date clinical competencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, carers, and young people.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to adapt and reprioritize at short notice.
- Ability to critically analyze research and promote and disseminate relevant findings in practice.
- Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in supporting students on placement as a supervisor or practice assessor.
- Competent IT skills.
