We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse to join our clinical team at St Barnabas Hospices. As a Senior Nurse Leader, you will provide leadership and support to the team while delivering specialist palliative care to children, young people, and their families.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the team in delivering high-quality palliative care services.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each child and young person.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Line manage a small team of junior nurses and care support workers, providing mentorship and coaching to ensure excellent clinical care.
- Contribute to the development of new workstreams, including transition, end-of-life care, learning disabilities, patient experience, and patient safety.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a band 5 registered nursing role, including palliative care and nursing children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge, with a full set of up-to-date clinical competencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, transferable within a range of professional and family situations.
- Ability to plan and deliver safe and effective clinical care in collaboration with parents/carers/young people.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to adapt and reprioritise at short notice based on the immediate needs of our children/young people and families.
- Ability to critically analyse research and promote and disseminate relevant findings in practice.
- Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in supporting students on placement as a supervisor or practice assessor.
- Competent IT skills.
