Unite People is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join a prominent civil engineering firm, focusing on various waste water treatment initiatives.


Position Overview:
This role will initially be based in the Oxfordshire area, with the understanding that travel to multiple sites across the Thames Valley may be necessary as project demands evolve.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume complete accountability for the management and successful execution of intricate projects or several project segments within the Thames Water Framework.
  • Supervise all facets of project management, encompassing health and safety, design oversight, client relations, quality assurance, environmental considerations, schedule compliance, and financial management throughout both the pre-production (Early Contractor Involvement) and production phases.
  • Monitor the advancement of both offsite and onsite activities to ensure adherence to timelines and budgetary limits.
  • Cultivate a positive team environment to promote well-being and enhance performance.
  • Implement innovative practices by integrating production line methodologies and our "offsite first" approach within the team.

Candidate Profile:
  • A remarkable team leader with robust people management, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
  • Proven experience in managing projects during both pre-production and production stages within a significant project context is highly advantageous.
  • A natural leader who can motivate a diverse group.
  • Familiarity with contract management is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are crucial.
  • Knowledge of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management, and Production Thinking, among other techniques that ensure effective programme, cost, and quality outcomes.
  • Programme-oriented, with the ability to strategize and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and project scope.
  • A commitment to maintaining outstanding site organization and cleanliness.
  • Strong commercial insight, capable of guiding the team in generating precise time and cost projections and reports.
  • Experience with BIM/digital tools is a plus.
  • A minimum HNC qualification in a manufacturing or construction-related discipline is preferred.
  • SMSTS safety certification and a valid CSCS card are mandatory.
