Abatec Recruitment is currently seeking a Project Manager to join a prominent infrastructure contractor collaborating with Thames Water on AMP8 initiatives.


The successful candidate will initially work on a project site, with future assignments across the Thames Water region.

The ideal applicant will possess prior experience in the water industry in a comparable capacity.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Oversee resource allocation and management of site personnel.
  • Report to senior management regarding departmental budget control for contracts and project progress.
  • Ensure adherence to safe working practices and the company's safety policies.
  • Enforce and monitor the division's quality assurance and environmental protocols.
  • Manage various projects and contracts effectively.
  • Facilitate communication at all levels concerning project advancements.
  • Provide line management and supervision for Sub Agents and General Foremen.
  • Indirectly oversee Site Engineers, Foremen, and Gangers.

Qualifications Required:

  • Essential: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Desirable: Chartered status or nearing completion.
  • Demonstrated relevant post-graduation practical training, such as courses in Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, and Health & Safety Management.
  • Proven experience managing challenging and diverse projects with major clients, including LUL, HA, Water Companies, and Petro/Chem.
  • Progressive experience from an engineering background, advancing to Site Agent through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
  • Site qualifications: CSCS card, SMSTS (5-day), First Aid at Work (4-day), National Water Hygiene card.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum.
  • Car allowance.
  • 26 days of annual leave, with the option to buy or sell up to 3 days.
