Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle and Driver Allocation: To ensure the efficient allocation of PSV vehicles and drivers to meet scheduled, timetabled, and contracted requirements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: To control and direct the allocation of PSV vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with driver's hours rules and regulations, and to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Communication and Liaison: To liaise with Inspectors and other Depot Supervisors to ensure effective resolution of disruptions and communication with other bus station staff.
- Customer Service: To deal expeditiously with passenger/customer complaints in a caring and professional manner.
- Driver Management: To ensure that all driving staff carry out their duties effectively, adhere to the Company's dress code, comply with the company's drug and alcohol policies, and promote good industrial relations.
- Operational Efficiency: To ensure the efficient allocation of work and to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Documentation and Compliance: To ensure the completion of all relevant documentation within the Operations Guidance Manual and to comply with the agreed routeing process and timescales.
Requirements:
Operational Experience: The successful Assistant Operations Manager will have a proven track record of operational experience in the bus and coach industry, with a strong understanding of driver's hours regulations and operational management principles.
Computer Literacy: A measure of computer literacy is essential, with experience of using AVL systems and other operational software.
Qualifications and Licenses: Possession of a full UK Driving licence is required, and holding a Cat D Licence would be an advantage. Driver training can be provided to the successful candidate.
Personal Qualities: The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to motivate and direct others.
