About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our dynamic finance team at GSF Car Parts, a leading automotive parts distributor in the UK and Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of high-volume invoices and maintaining accurate accounts payable records.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Match and process high volumes of stock invoices with purchase orders, good receipts, and other supporting documentation, verifying and reviewing all incoming invoices and credit notes for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Code and process high volumes of non-stock (opex) invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Send high volumes of invoices to internal stakeholders for approval and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently and effectively.
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors, and ensuring accurate payment of invoices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including online filing of invoices/credit notes and other related documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing and reconciling accounts payable reports and statements.

About You

The ideal candidate will be highly competent in Excel, with a strong background in report running and a proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high-volume invoices. You will possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a multi-site organization.
  • Accounts payable experience and knowledge of MAM, MS Office would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high-volume invoices.
  • Effective communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
