Position Overview:

The selected candidate will provide independent support services to achieve the operational goals of PriceSenz. The main aim is to deliver quality services and outcomes through the execution of specialized support tasks.

Minimum Education: Master's Degree

Resume Length: Maximum of 3 pages

Compensation: $70 per hour on W2

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related scientific discipline. A Master's degree with three (3) years of specialized experience is considered equivalent to a Ph.D. A Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of specialized experience is also equivalent to a Ph.D.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a scientific field.

  2. Proven expertise in generating and analyzing pluripotent stem cell cultures and differentiation.
  3. Extensive scientific training in mouse and human genetics, stem cell biology, flow cytometry, DNA and protein purification, and the genetics of repeat expansion mutations.
  4. Strong publication history.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: Assist in the exploration of fundamental principles of plant and animal life.

  • Investigate the origins, relationships, development, anatomy, and functions of various species.
  • Classify and study the structure, behavior, ecology, physiology, nutrition, culture, and distribution of plant and animal species.
  • Design and execute biological research programs.

Laboratory Experiments: Support basic laboratory experiments and procedures.

  • Oversee biological technicians and other scientists.
  • Monitor and document experiments, compiling production and test data for evaluation.
  • Analyze experimental data and interpret results to create reports and summaries.

Laboratory Management: Organize and maintain various lab samples, supplies, and equipment.

  • Ensure laboratory equipment is well-maintained.
  • Analyze laboratory findings effectively.

Learning and Development: Acquire new laboratory techniques and procedures.

  • Utilize computer programs for data storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Interpret and record research or operational data.

Additional Duties:

  • Manage the laboratory's mouse colony, including maintaining essential strains and coordinating the import/export of mice and related materials.
  • Develop genotyping assays for new mouse lines and supervise the generation of new lines through gene editing and breeding strategies.
  • Conduct research on molecular mechanisms linked to mutation and disease pathology.
  • Collaborate with research staff to ensure continuity and progress across multiple projects.
  • Participate in lab meetings, presenting research updates as necessary.
  • Prepare manuscripts and submit research findings to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Engage in scientific meetings, representing the lab through presentations.
  • Maintain organized laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Assist with recruitment and training of new personnel.
