Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our award-winning department as a Rotational Senior Pharmacist. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of medicines optimisation and patient care, contributing to the development of our clinical pharmacy services.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with medical and nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient medicines optimisation and standardisation of medicine policies and procedures. They will also contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, working collaboratively with staff across the Pharmacy department and student placements.

Key Requirements
  • Post-registration experience in an acute hospital-based clinical post
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care
  • Experience of undertaking research, quality improvement, or audit projects
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT literate with intermediate IT skills, including accurate data entry and use of specialist computer programs
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical knowledge, with a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent. They will be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a good understanding of patient safety initiatives. A DBS Enhanced check with a check of the barred lists will be required.
