Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to become an integral part of our Group Reporting Team. This role is crucial for delivering precise and insightful financial reporting on a global scale. The successful candidate will also play a vital role in evaluating new contracts and conducting revenue analysis, serving as the primary contact for all matters related to IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Revenue accounting in accordance with IFRS 15, ensuring knowledge transfer within the team.
- Evaluate and model significant contracts in compliance with IFRS 15, including new contracts and modifications.
- Assist in the Lease accounting process under IFRS 16, evaluating new assets and maintaining schedules for existing leases.
- Collaborate with the business and financial systems teams to enhance automated revenue recognition processes.
- Oversee subsidiary transactions for the Americas, reviewing monthly reporting packs from local accountants.
- Calculate transfer pricing for subsidiaries to facilitate intercompany invoicing.
- Conduct cost centre reviews with business managers, preparing and presenting performance reports to senior management.
- Work with various teams within and outside Finance to improve financial reporting data.
- Ensure timely completion of key month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations using the Blackline system.
- Support the preparation of interim accounts and the annual report for the Group.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Develop and maintain the control environment for IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial systems with the capability to enhance them.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude and a collaborative approach within the Finance team.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to effectively support colleagues across the organization.
- A team-oriented individual willing to take on tasks regardless of hierarchy.
