Serco is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Manager for the Offender Management Unit Hub. In this position, you will oversee and guide the efforts of the OMU team, ensuring a holistic service is provided to all involved parties. Your leadership will be pivotal in nurturing constructive relationships with external organizations while promoting a rehabilitative environment.
Your role will involve collaborating within the Offender Management Unit, executing tasks with professionalism and efficiency. You will be responsible for enhancing departmental operations through training initiatives and adapting to legislative changes, while also being open to undertaking additional responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all OMU protocols, consistently upholding high standards as per established policies.
- Manage OMU personnel effectively to fulfill the requirements of prisoner risk management, including OASys reporting, Sentence Planning, and Public Protection processes.
- Supervise and conduct quality assurance assessments to guarantee thorough and accurate evaluations.
- Implement new procedures in response to policy updates and legislative changes, ensuring seamless operations within the department.
- Engage in staff development, providing support, training, and motivation to all team members within the OMU.
- Oversee people management responsibilities, including performance reviews and managing staff performance and attendance.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience in offender management or custodial settings is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a high level of computer proficiency.
- Proven people management abilities, with experience in supervising a dynamic office environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage tight deadlines.
- A proactive individual with the passion and drive to foster change and support a rehabilitative culture.
