Fire Extinguisher Service Technician - Covering West London

Morgan Fire Protection is dedicated to providing comprehensive maintenance and repair services for fire safety systems and portable extinguishers. While our primary operations are centered in London, we extend our services nationwide through a responsive delivery model. We are seeking to hire a Fire Extinguisher Service Technician to focus on the Kent region and its surrounding areas.

Compensation

Basic Salary – £24-26,000 per annum plus 4% commission on all completed works

Responsibilities of the Fire Extinguisher Service Technician

The role involves servicing and maintaining Portable Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels, and Kitchen Fire Suppression systems for local, national, and key accounts. All necessary equipment will be provided to ensure high standards of service and maintenance.

  • Adhere to current standards and customer specifications.
  • Plan and execute service visits within your designated area, ensuring optimal efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with a diverse client base.
  • Be accountable for effective area planning to maximize travel efficiency and time spent on customer premises.
  • Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance promptly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure clarity regarding system and equipment status.
  • Coordinate with Service Administrators to meet customer needs.
  • Manage and secure vehicle stock, tools, and equipment responsibly.
  • Approach training positively and perform all duties professionally.
  • Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required during training and peak periods.

We seek candidates who embody the qualities of a great Morgan Fire Protection employee, including a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, professional appearance, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Specifically, we are looking for individuals who possess:

  • Experience in fire extinguisher servicing, with qualifications demonstrating competence and knowledge of BS5306 parts 3 and 8.
  • A technical background in the Mechanical Fire industry.
  • Experience in front-line customer service.
  • Prior experience in maintaining fire extinguishers is essential.
  • Qualifications such as BAFE / FETA or equivalent.
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for work and training as needed.
  • Experience with other Mechanical Fire Systems is a plus.
  • A valid driving license.
