Fire Protection Maintenance Technician

Morgan Fire Protection is dedicated to providing exceptional maintenance services for fire safety systems and portable extinguishers. Our operational focus is primarily in London, but we extend our services nationwide through a responsive delivery approach. We are currently seeking a Fire Protection Maintenance Technician to serve the Kent region and its surroundings.

Compensation Package

Base Salary – £24-26,000 annually plus 4% commission on all completed tasks

Responsibilities of the Fire Protection Maintenance Technician

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the servicing and upkeep of Portable Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels, and Kitchen Fire Suppression systems for local, national, and key accounts. All necessary equipment will be provided to ensure high standards of service and maintenance.

  • Adhere to current standards and customer specifications.
  • Schedule and execute service visits within your designated area, ensuring optimal efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with a diverse client base.
  • Manage area planning effectively to maximize travel efficiency and time spent with clients.
  • Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance promptly and cost-effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide clear updates on system and equipment status.
  • Coordinate with Service Administrators to meet customer needs.
  • Oversee the management and security of vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Approach training with a positive attitude and execute all duties professionally.
  • Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required during training and peak periods.

Candidate Profile

Ideal Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who embody the qualities of a great Morgan Fire Protection employee, including a positive demeanor, excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. For this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in fire extinguisher servicing, with relevant qualifications demonstrating competence and a solid understanding of BS5306 parts 3 and 8.
  • A technical background in the Mechanical Fire industry.
  • Experience in front-line customer service.
  • Prior experience in maintaining fire extinguishers is essential.
  • Qualifications such as BAFE / FETA or equivalent.
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for work and training as needed.
  • Experience with other Mechanical Fire Systems is a plus.
  • A valid driving license.
