Position Overview: Are you ready to elevate your career within a prestigious global financial institution? Citi's Legal team is seeking a talented individual to contribute to our mission of delivering responsible financial services that foster growth and economic advancement.

Role Focus: This position is dedicated to the Rates and Markets Treasury sectors on a global scale, with particular emphasis on the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. You will engage with all desks across these businesses, emphasizing local markets, including cash, derivatives, and structured products, as well as bespoke solutions related to Rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to Markets businesses concerning Rates and Markets Treasury.
  • Develop bespoke financing structures, including Islamic financing (primarily in repo format) and derivatives-based financing (notably in TRS format).
  • Oversee the negotiation of transaction documents from a hedging perspective, collaborating with the Belfast team on derivative documentation.
  • Offer general legal advice on cash trading, particularly in local markets.
  • Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of financial products and their interactions, demonstrating intellectual curiosity to learn about new products and legal frameworks.
