Job Summary:

The successful candidate will support the Senior Legal Counsel on a broad range of construction projects, contracts, and contentious matters. This role will involve:

  • Negotiating, Drafting, and Collating Construction Contracts: The candidate will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and collating construction contracts and similar legal documents.
  • Managing Construction Due Diligence: The role will include managing the construction due diligence process in respect of financings.
  • Dealing with Construction Disputes: The candidate will deal with early stages of construction disputes.
  • Developing Key Internal Relationships: The role will involve developing key internal relationships.
  • Updating Internal Lawyers: The candidate will update other internal lawyers to ensure awareness of all issues that may impact associated legal or transactional work.
  • Overseeing External Counsel: The role will involve overseeing external counsel.
  • Awareness and Escalation of Construction-Related Risk: The candidate will be aware of and escalate construction-related risk and reputation issues across the business.
  • Day-to-Day Construction Legal Issues: The role will involve dealing with day-to-day construction-related legal issues that may arise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 Years' PQE: The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience, ideally with construction legal experience.
  • Sound Proven Basis in Construction Law: A sound proven basis in construction law and building development projects is required.
  • Commercial Problem-Solving Approach: The candidate must be self-motivated and have a proactive commercial problem-solving approach.
  • Team Player: The candidate must be a team player with a willingness to help others.
  • Flexible and Organized: A flexible, organized, and calm approach to work is essential, with the ability to work under pressure.

Salary: £80,000 + package
