Role Summary: We are in search of a proficient Cost Estimator to become a vital member of our client's professional team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the effective execution of residential projects. Your expertise will be essential in managing financial aspects and ensuring cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop precise and comprehensive cost assessments, budgets, and quantity take-offs for residential construction initiatives.
- Perform detailed cost evaluations and assessments of project designs, materials, and subcontractor bids.
- Oversee and control project expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved financial plans.
- Prepare and present valuations, modifications, and final financial statements.
- Work collaboratively with the project team to offer commercial insights and support during all project phases.
- Examine contract documents to identify potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Manage the procurement, negotiation, and administration of subcontractors.
- Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee timely and cost-effective provision of materials and services.
- Utilize construction management software for accurate financial reporting and oversight.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to cost estimation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Cost Estimation, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Cost Estimator within the construction field, particularly in residential projects.
- Strong understanding of cost management, contract administration, and procurement methodologies.
- Familiarity with construction management software is advantageous.
- Membership in a professional organization such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred but not mandatory.
