Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to become part of our Facilities Support Team.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in healthcare settings is crucial. Therefore, we are looking for candidates who are ambitious, driven, and take pride in their contributions.

The successful candidates will undergo comprehensive training over a 12-month period in various areas including catering, sanitation, and portering. Upon completion, there will be opportunities to continue as a Facilities Support Specialist or transition into other service areas, contingent upon successful training completion.

This role requires flexibility to accommodate the needs of the service, including weekend and holiday shifts.

Available Positions:

2 x 30 hours per week

Shift times will vary, but a typical workweek consists of 5 shifts of 6 hours each.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Housekeeping and Domestic Services, the successful candidate will ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the hospital environment and its equipment.

In the Catering Department, responsibilities will include food preparation, production, delivery, presentation, and removal.

Within the Transport and Portering Team, duties will involve managing medical gas cylinders, waste removal, distribution of supplies and linens, office and furniture relocations, and mail handling.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder will be part of the Facilities Support Team, responsible for performing duties aligned with the role's grade. This includes catering, cleaning, and portering across various Trust locations. Flexibility is essential as duties may change throughout the workday or week, although the post holder will primarily focus on one main role each day.

High-quality service delivery is expected, in accordance with Facilities and Trust policies.

The post holder will receive training in various operational functions and will utilize both facilities and Trust IT systems to fulfill their job responsibilities. The role may require responding to tasks through a defined communication system.

Adherence to standards and practices in Trust policy and Facilities procedural manuals is essential to ensure a safe and clean environment for service users.

The post holder will serve as a point of contact for service users and visitors, providing a warm welcome and assistance as needed.

Team members are expected to collaborate effectively as part of the Facilities Team.

Qualifications

  • BICSc qualification or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
  • Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety or willingness to obtain within 12 months.

Experience

Training Commitment

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training associated with the job role.

Knowledge and Skills
