Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Support Specialist to join our team at Outwood Grange Academies Trust. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic achievement of students, particularly those who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vice Principal and the Deep Support Team in developing and implementing strategies to improve student attainment and progress.
  • Monitor student progress and identify areas where additional support is required.
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Team and the Vice Principal Deep Support to develop and implement intervention strategies to support student achievement.
  • Use data to inform teaching and learning, and to identify areas where additional support is required.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the school.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable students and the ability to develop and implement strategies to support their academic achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaborative working.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use data to inform teaching and learning, and to identify areas where additional support is required.
