About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at BAM UK & Ireland. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including completion of associated paperwork and reports.
  • Respond to reactive and emergency breakdown tasks, completing the necessary paperwork and reports.
  • Assist other team members as required, or as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
  • Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
  • Oversee visiting sub-contractors to ensure they meet our standards of work and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
  • Regularly review progress requests and communicate with the Supervisor or contact centre if there are problems or delays.
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction based on speed of response and completion rates.
  • Develop and manage ongoing and routine maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the safe and secure storage of spare parts, materials, tools, and consumables.
  • Provide technical support to other team members as requested.
  • Monitor and inspect sub-contractor works on a daily basis.
  • Manage and control the Building Management System (BMS) where applicable.
  • Perform any other duties as may be discussed and agreed.
  • Manage services in accordance with contract specification, using best practice commercial and industry practices.
  • Responsible for the implementation and compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements, ensuring compliance with all legislation and BAM FM policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with legislative and BAM FM requirements.
  • Carry out other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time by BAM FM.
  • Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Ensure that detailed records are created and filed for statutory testing, inspections, and record-keeping.
Requirements
  • Experience of electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on a variety of equipment, including air conditioning, plumbing, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power, and lighting.
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service targets, and objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
  • Capable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in working to a high level in one or more specific trade disciplines.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working in an educational institution would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driver's license.
  • Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (PVG) in relation to this type of work is applicable.
  • PASMA Certification.
  • MEWP Certification.
  • Electrical qualification.
  • Legionella Training.
  • First Aid Training.
