About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Services Assistant to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Pharmacy Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team in the preparation and dispensing of medicines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medicines, including the receipt and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Support the pharmacy team in the preparation of products for intravenous use, including the assembly of raw materials and the use of aseptic technique.
  • Assist in the induction and training of new members of staff, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the pharmacy service.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a pharmacy environment.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The role will involve working in a cleanroom environment, where the use of aseptic technique is essential. The post holder will also be required to work with changes in temperature and may encounter aggressive behavior from time to time.
