Automotive Interiors Engineer Opportunity

Expleo Engineering UK Limited is seeking an experienced Automotive Interiors Engineer to join their Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer. The successful candidate will have a passion for future vehicle development and a strong understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture, and idea generation.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Door Trim and a distinct focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis, and reporting. Based in Bedfordshire, the successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic team of Development Engineers, working on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development of Interiors to Quality, Cost, and Delivery
  2. Prepare detailed cost reports
  3. Manage and report on Costs vs Budget and oversee the Supplier Timing Plan
  4. Lead concern investigations
  5. Manage suppliers
  6. Communicate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Styling, Product Planning, Purchase, and other Design Sections
  7. Lifecycle cost management
  8. Competitor and internal benchmarking
Requirements:
  1. Ideal degree-educated in a relevant design or engineering qualification
  2. Previous automotive Interiors development experience
  3. Knowledge of interior cabin parts and modules
  4. Cost breakdown analysis skills
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes
