Automotive Interiors Engineer Opportunity

Expleo Engineering UK Limited is seeking an experienced Automotive Interiors Engineer to join their Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for future vehicle development and a strong understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture, and idea generation.

The successful candidate will have a background in Door Trim and a distinct focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis, and reporting. They will be responsible for leading the development of Interiors to Quality, Cost, and Delivery, as well as preparing detailed cost reports and managing suppliers.

The role will involve communicating cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Styling, Product Planning, Purchase, and other Design Sections. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant design or engineering qualification and previous experience in automotive Interiors development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead development of Interiors to Quality, Cost, and Delivery
  2. Prepare detailed cost reports
  3. Manage and report costs versus budget and oversee supplier timing plans
  4. Lead concern investigations
  5. Manage suppliers
  6. Communicate cross-functionally with key stakeholders
  7. Lifecycle cost management
  8. Competitor and internal benchmarking

Requirements:

  1. Degree in a relevant design or engineering qualification
  2. Previous experience in automotive Interiors development
  3. Knowledge of interior cabin parts and modules
  4. Cost breakdown analysis skills
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes
