Job Title: Stock and Sales Assistant

Location: Chelmsford, UK

About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stock and Sales Assistant to contribute to our operations. In this position, you will oversee inventory management, assist in sales activities, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers. Your organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities will be key in maintaining high store standards and providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory levels by receiving shipments, unpacking products, and arranging items in the storage area.
  • Restock shelves on the sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is attractively displayed and accessible to shoppers.
  • Assist customers with their purchases, offering product details and recommendations.
  • Manage the checkout process, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of transactions, including cash and card payments.
  • Keep the store environment tidy and organized, including maintaining displays and shelves.
  • Support visual merchandising efforts by setting up promotional displays and signage to enhance customer engagement.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in stock management to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Address customer questions and resolve any issues or complaints in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Participate in store operations by assisting with opening and closing tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to health and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in retail or a similar position is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage various tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions and managing inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A positive demeanor, dependability, and enthusiasm for the retail sector.
