About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Receptionist / Administration Assistant to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will provide exceptional support to our doctors and patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage patient appointments, including booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments as needed.
  • Record patient information, including arrival times, requests for prescriptions, and other relevant details.
  • Process prescriptions and other medical documents in accordance with practice protocol.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and security at all times.
  • Provide administrative support to our doctors and other staff members, including preparing summaries, logging outgoing mail, and photocopying documents as required.
  • Participate in practice recall systems and other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, doctors, and other staff members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in keyboard skills and ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
