Position Overview

The Assistant Manager of Student Records plays a crucial role within the Student Records Team, overseeing essential business functions related to student records throughout their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation.

This position collaborates with various central departments, academic faculties, and colleges to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all student-related information.

Additionally, the role guarantees compliance with university policies and external regulations regarding student data management.

In this capacity, you will support the Student Records Manager and coordinate with fellow assistant managers to enhance this vital service area.

The role will focus on one or more of the following domains:

Departmental Context

The Student Registry operates under the Student and Academic Services Directorate, providing essential administrative support to students, staff, and prospective students.

The Academic Registrar leads the department, ensuring alignment with the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) in its management.

The Student and Academic Services Directorate encompasses various services, including:

  • Academic Registrar's Office
  • Curriculum, Learning, and Assessment
  • Student Immigration and Funding
  • Student Recruitment and Admissions
  • Student Registry

Located in Durham City, the Student Registry is dedicated to delivering student-centric services and managing processes such as enrollment, timetabling, examinations, and the issuance of academic documentation.

The Directorate embraces a hybrid working model, allowing for a balance between remote and on-site work.

Role Responsibilities

Service Delivery

  • Oversee operational activities of the Student Records Administrators.

Communication and Liaison

  • Participate in meetings and committees to improve services.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and central teams on initiatives.
