Position Overview: Support Students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a Secondary School to recruit committed individuals who are passionate about enhancing the educational experience of students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering communication, independence, and employability skills among students as they navigate their educational journey.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • A strong commitment to providing care and support to others.
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviours with confidence.
  • Patience, dependability, and a positive mindset.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in engaging with the curriculum and participating in school activities, under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Contribute to the planning and assessment of learning activities, offering insights on student progress.
  • Support classroom management by keeping students focused according to their individual needs.
  • Provide specialized assistance for students exhibiting challenging behaviours, adhering to support plans and risk assessments under teacher oversight.

Essential Requirements:

  • An enhanced Child DBS registered with the update service.
  • Experience in a Care/Support Worker role or a similar capacity.
  • Confidence in supporting children and young individuals with special educational needs.

All stated pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
