About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Thorn Baker Construction. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of our Health and Safety strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance and advice to site teams on the interpretation and application of our SHE management systems.
  • Promote our SHE standards within our contracts and supply chain, conducting regular assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings to monitor and evaluate health and safety standards.
  • Support the identification and management of SHE risks, issues, and opportunities, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitate liaison with enforcing SHE authorities, ensuring effective communication and resolution of any issues.
  • Create site-specific audit and inspection packs to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience delivering statutory compliance, employers' duties, risk assessments, and auditing.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a construction/build safety role, with a good understanding of relevant SHEQ legislation and industry standards.
  • Relevant H&S qualification, including NEBOSH certificate or similar.
  • IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
