Senior Key Account Executive – Large Scale Projects

This role involves overseeing the sales of the SMA product line to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, direct clients, and indirect partners for substantial photovoltaic initiatives. The position is pivotal in managing essential customer accounts and enhancing existing business ties with significant international clients or within a key geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Key Accounts while nurturing enduring relationships.
  • Oversee the sales process for the complete SMA product suite, from the tender phase to project finalization, with a strong emphasis on inverters for grid-connected solar and storage solutions (including power plant offerings such as the SunnyCentral, MVPS, and SunnyCentral storage inverters).
  • Coordinate and facilitate global activities for strategically vital clients, considering various business models (EPCs, installers, distribution partners, aftersales) in close collaboration with relevant SMA specialist teams.
  • Formulate and execute sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with other specialized departments (e.g., product management/service/TSS) to address customer inquiries and tenders. Establish 'bid teams' through interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Create and implement customer business plans.
  • Execute tactical and strategic initiatives to boost sales.
  • Develop communication strategies tailored to specific accounts.
  • Participate in trade exhibitions, partner conferences, congresses, and forums. Conduct quarterly and annual meetings with key clients.
  • Launch sales campaigns (e.g., in-house trade exhibitions, training seminars, and technical advisory sessions) and product-related on-site training workshops.
  • Identify and analyze sales and market trends, seeking out new clients to drive revenue growth.
  • Provide assistance to tender developers to incorporate SMA in tenders and analyze sales outcomes for potential tender participation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, complemented by strong commercial acumen; a Business degree is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in Key or Global Account Management, particularly with high-value clients.
  • Persuasive sales professional with a strong customer focus and negotiation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, exhibiting high levels of flexibility and exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Knowledge of the industry.
  • Familiarity with the product range.
  • Experience in utilities.
  • Understanding of strategic selling principles.
  • Experience with tenders.
