Job Description
Quantity Surveyor - New Homes Pillar
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our New Homes Pillar. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Operations Manager in providing monthly reports to the customer, ensuring that such reports contain accurate forecasts of our rolling draft final account, full information concerning variations and record contractual notices.
- Developing and maintaining close relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors to continuously improve customer experience, improve our company position, and obtain repeat and negotiated business.
- Evaluating, submitting, and agreeing the price of variations and contract instructions, provisional sums, and value engineering (VE) etc.
- Preparing and agreeing monthly valuations with the client's representative and ensuring same are invoiced, paid, in full, and on time.
- Ensuring that any agreement with client representatives is documented and that adequate records are kept in respect of any future claims.
- Preparing and submitting alternative proposals for materials and specifications to the client for approval.
- Preparing and agreeing the final account with the client's representative.
- Preparing and submitting all necessary contractual claims, subcontract, and interim valuations and final accounts, including all necessary measurement, as well as making sure that any agreement of variations with the supply chain is documented.
- Measuring, valuing, negotiating, and checking as necessary all subcontract interim and final account applications and processing all associated payments in accordance with the Construction Act and/or other prevailing legislation.
- Informing the Commercial Manager of any possible claims by subcontractors and preparing and/or seeking direction in preparing any necessary documentation/correspondence to protect the company's interests.
- Preparing a response to any claim for loss and expense, after liaison with their line manager.
