Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Farrans Construction is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on our major projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring costs, maximizing revenue, and minimizing liabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor project expenditure against budget
  • Provide accurate financial reporting
  • Build and maintain relationships with the supply chain and clients
  • Manage subcontractor supplier accounts
  • Complete measurements and valuations of work executed
  • Ensure payments to Sub Contractors and Suppliers are made to the terms and work in progress cash targets
  • Ensure Farrans Construction is compliant with all contractual requirements
  • Monitor project expenditure against budget
  • Provide analysis of cost over-run and cost projections
  • Explore opportunities to maximize value and minimize cost
  • Liaise with clients on commercial issues
  • Identify legitimate contractual claim situations
Requirements
  • Prior pre and post contract experience in a construction QS role working on major projects
  • Strong understanding of modern building techniques, plant and equipment, and logistical needs/issues
  • Strong understanding of construction contract conditions
  • Appreciation of the impact of cost in the completion of a programme and development of a construction solution
  • Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent qualification
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software
