About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Housekeeping team at St Gemma's Hospice. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, including patient rooms, common areas, and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, adhering to COSHH guidelines and infection control protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the Housekeeping team to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of time.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in housekeeping and infection control.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of COSHH guidelines and infection control protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
