About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Specialist to join our team at Allen & Overy. As a key member of our Data Privacy Team, you will play a critical role in upholding the values of our firm and supporting the strategic objectives of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Populate and administer specialist privacy software as part of our GDPR record-keeping requirements.
  • Gather and analyze data to support the work of the Data Privacy Team, including individual rights requests.
  • Maintain and report on records and reports required to be maintained under applicable Data Protection Laws.
  • Liaise with other teams globally to update and maintain internal records relating to GDPR compliance.
  • Provide triage for incoming requests for support, addressing common queries and seeking support from the team as required.
  • Help create and maintain policies, guidance, and pro-forma documentation in connection with data protection compliance within the firm.
  • Administer regulatory registration and notification requirements.
  • Perform general administration, including preparation of communications and presentations.
  • Support the Data Privacy Team in delivering our global privacy compliance program.
Requirements
  • A law degree.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a professional environment.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, including with senior stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to work independently and proactively and to manage and prioritize a busy workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work well in a small team.
Desirable but Non-Essential
  • Knowledge and experience of data protection compliance work.
  • Experience of using eDiscovery tools, such as Relativity.
