Assistant Head of Service Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Head of Service to join our team at James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of Service in managing a complex needs service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to customers, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Service in managing the service, including developing and implementing strategies to improve service delivery and customer outcomes.
  • Ensure that all association accommodation is maintained as a safe and pleasant environment for customers to maintain their tenancies.
  • Manage and monitor the service to ensure cost efficiency and value for money.
  • Administer occupancy agreements across accommodations and independent supported accommodation, including tenancy termination where necessary.
  • Ensure customers are provided with practical support and counselling on matters such as housing, employment, finance, cultural needs, social and personal problems, education, social skills, hygiene, and health care.
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and health and wellbeing concerns for customers and staff.
  • Maintain rotas and ensure effective management at the scheme.
  • Conduct regular property audits, provide remedial solutions, and report to the management team.
  • Monitor team performance through conducting appraisals, audits, training, and inductions.

Requirements:

  • Effectively managing a team within a Homeless Support service.
  • Working alongside vulnerable clients and mediating complex situations.
  • Monitoring health and safety and safeguarding concerns in line with regulations and policies.
