Commercial Project Surveyor

Role Overview

As a Commercial Project Surveyor at Network Plus Services, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to enhance operational efficiencies, oversee financial management, and optimize regional performance for our clientele. This position requires you to take charge of all financial dimensions of the project, ensuring meticulous oversight of all commercial and contractual elements. Your goal will be to achieve the desired profit margins while applying exceptional commercial insight, as well as identifying, documenting, and monitoring both risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate who will:

  • Oversee and evaluate project expenditures, including weekly profit and loss reporting.
  • Examine contract documentation and provide guidance on any arising issues.
  • Monitor project progress and cash flow forecasts.
  • Generate and assess commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports.
  • Manage subcontractor relations, including forecasting, issuing orders, and negotiating terms.
  • Prepare subcontract documentation, solicit quotations, and assess submissions.
  • Execute subcontract orders, manage agreements, and certify subcontractor valuations, invoices, and payments.
  • Oversee the change control process, along with risk and value management.
  • Track project modifications, variations, and notifications.
  • Evaluate and appraise variations and compensation events.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment requests to clients, along with final account agreements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, progress updates, and commercial discussions on-site with clients.
  • Engage actively in tendering and pricing processes.
  • Assist the Credit Control team with cash recovery and forecasting.
  • Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual matters.

Experience and Qualifications

A degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience in the Utilities sector is advantageous.

Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.

Ability to manage competing priorities, multitask, and perform under tight deadlines.

Exceptional communication skills.
