Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our Manchester team. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing the cost of projects, providing accurate cost monitoring and forecasting, and collaborating with clients and contractors to deliver project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow.
  • Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives.
  • Manage contract change effectively and ensure projects remain within governance.
  • Drive improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders.
  • Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and contract management skills.
  • Previous experience in cost management, preferably with NEC3, Option C.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, change management, and valuation.
  • Ability to identify and drive efficiencies and improvements through the project life cycle.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject, ideally with professional body membership or equivalent.
