About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Qualiteach Ltd. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment with young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans and help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and social skills.
  • Support the re-engagement of students with their education and promote a positive attitude towards learning.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs, preferably in PRUs, SEMH schools, or similar settings.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable young people.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
