Oswestry, Shropshire, United Kingdom Radis Community Care Full time

Are you seeking a fulfilling career in specialized care?

We invite you to consider a rewarding position as a Complex Care Support Worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support to an individual with a neurodegenerative condition and various health challenges.

Role Overview

As a Complex Care Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional care to a gentleman in his 50s who resides with his family. He has a rich history as a furniture retailer and enjoys engaging in conversations and watching films, particularly action genres. However, he requires assistance with personal care, medication management, PEG feeding, oxygen therapy, and the use of medical equipment. Due to his condition, he is primarily bed-bound and needs a full hoist for transfers. His medical history includes chronic pain, Barrett's syndrome, type 2 respiratory failure, type 2 diabetes, and scoliosis.

You will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to enhancing your skills and knowledge in complex care. Building a trusting relationship with the gentleman and his family is vital, as they are actively involved and supportive. Your role will include assisting him with various activities, both at home and in the community, tailored to his preferences and health status.

A Registered Nurse will oversee your competency assessments and provide ongoing supervision.

Benefits of Joining Our Team

We offer competitive compensation, including:

  • Weekday rate: £13.50 per hour
  • Weekend day rate: £13.80 per hour
  • Wake night rate: £14.50 per hour

Flexible hours and shift patterns are available, which can be discussed during the interview process. Additional benefits include paid holidays, a pension scheme, employee discounts, and opportunities for continuous training and professional development, along with regular feedback and supervision.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualities:

  • Empathy, kindness, and patience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility and a positive outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills
  • Experience in supporting individuals with complex care needs is preferred, but training will be provided

Availability to work every other weekend is essential.
