**Job Summary**

John Wood Group is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to support our UK projects within the System Integration business. This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK, with mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues as required.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Ensure effective commercial co-ordination of relevant projects in accordance with all relevant Company commercial policies and procedures.
  • Deliver commercial reporting to Business Unit and ensure all commercial procedures are followed and reviewed.
  • Implement and deliver key policies and procedures, including the Financial Management Framework and Tender Governance Procedures.
  • Adhere to all requirements of the client contract T&Cs, with specific emphasis on reporting and change management in line with the NEC4 client contract.
  • Support the proposals team in terms of performing a commercial review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, and preparing pricing and commercial qualifications.
  • Comply with Wood's commercial policies, processes, and procedures within sub-BG (tender governance, financial instruments, contracting policy, etc.).
  • Manage risk processes, including risk identification, mitigation planning, and administration of risk process in conjunction with operations.
  • Administer main contracts across sub-BG, including timely provision of commercial deliverables (e.g. bonds, PCGs, evidence of insurance), correspondence management, and management of change to optimize commercial entitlements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project commercial handover/plans, including commercial strategy, subcontracting commercial strategy, and profit improvement plans.
  • Conduct regular project cost analysis/reviews to maximize recoverable costs, minimize disallowable costs, and ensure adequate cost accruals and provisions are in place.
  • Prepare project cashflow forecasts, expenditure, invoice preparation, and expediting of payments, with limited support and supervision, and in accordance with client contract requirements and Wood processes and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of invoices and supporting information/data and maintain project invoice registers.
  • Develop subcontracting commercial strategy in conjunction with Project Management, supply chain, and other functions, as required.
  • Compile subcontract documents, including main contract flow downs, pricing, and payment prior to execution, subcontract filing/retention of records.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis to:
    • Prepare, deliver, and analyze inputs to key contract and internal project reporting requirements and ensure the accuracy of project forecasts.
    • Represent the company in monthly BU/BG/Sub BG project reviews.
    • Prepare and deliver main contract and subcontract (if applicable) close-out requirements in full accordance with contract requirements while optimizing Wood's commercial recovery.
    • Governance and implementation of Financial Management Framework within assigned project/sub-BG.
    • Align project/sub-BG specific commercial requirements with Wood commercial processes and procedures and communicate to relevant personnel.
    • Manage and supervise personnel development and training of the designated commercial team.
    • Coordinate contract reviews and the development of qualifications/redlines in conjunction with the Contracts function to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration model.

**Requirements**

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, along with appropriate professional qualification (preferred).
  • Proven experience in contract administration, including change management.
  • Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
  • Experience in claims and dispute resolution (pre and post-litigation experience preferred).
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
