Job Title: Senior Urban Economist

About the Role:

Dar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Urban Economist to join our Economics Department in London. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic, economic, and financial advisory services to help deliver projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop economic strategies for regional, urban, and industrial plans using a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Conduct business cases, feasibility studies, and economic impact assessments.
  • Coordinate and liaise with other disciplines in project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and control requirements.
  • Contribute to project proposals and business development activities.
  • Travel for client meetings and workshops as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong first degree in Economics, Urban and Regional Planning, Real Estate Development, or similar.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc or MBA) an advantage.
  • 3-7+ years of relevant consulting or project development experience.
  • Team player with strong communication skills, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage time and resources.

  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrable qualitative and quantitative abilities to inform strongly evidenced recommendations and advice.
  • Technical Skills: Good technical capabilities and experience in providing professional economic advice across a range of projects.
  • Resource Management: Experience in managing time and resources to meet project deadlines within budget.
  • Management/Leadership: Demonstrable experience in leading teams in the delivery of projects.
