Position Overview: The Inclusion Education Specialist is responsible for supporting school attendance initiatives and promoting educational access for all children. This role is vital in ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential through education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various partner agencies, services, and educational institutions to facilitate positive educational outcomes for children and young people.
  • Engage with families to uphold their children's legal rights to a comprehensive education, implementing a supportive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Conduct casework related to school attendance, including issues such as children missing from education, elective home education, and managing suspensions and exclusions.
  • Provide guidance and support to families navigating school exclusion processes, ensuring appropriate challenges are made when necessary.
  • Initiate legal proceedings concerning irregular school attendance and participate in court processes as required.
  • Issue penalty notices to parents or guardians who fail to ensure regular school attendance for their children, adhering to established criteria.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in IT systems for record-keeping. Experience working with families and children is essential.
