A prominent secondary educational institution is seeking dedicated personnel to contribute to the management and operation of its Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) resource base. This facility will be staffed by a SEND educator alongside three specially trained teaching assistants, ensuring a low student-to-adult ratio that caters to the unique needs of each child.
Your role will involve working within the ASC resource base, assisting students in achieving their individual developmental goals. Responsibilities will include both one-on-one support and small group facilitation. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to less experienced teaching assistants, fostering their professional growth through a coaching methodology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the lead teacher of the resource base
- Deliver exceptional support to students
- Assist in the planning and resource allocation
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies
- Guide and support the professional development of support staff
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- HLTA certification
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
- Prior experience with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Autism, Complex Needs, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) is advantageous
- Eligibility to work in the UK (valid visa required)
