Learning and Development Specialist

Westfalia Fruit is a leading multinational supplier of fresh fruit and related value-added products to global markets. Our vertically-integrated supply chain enables us to grow, source, ripen, pack, process, and market quality avocados and fresh produce 365 days a year across the globe.

We're seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team in Kings Hill, West Malling, for a 12-month fixed contract. As a key member of our European learning and development function, you'll design and implement engaging induction plans and e-learning content to ensure a positive onboarding experience for new hires.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate learning and development plans based on business and organisational needs.
  • Create online training resources and materials to drive a 'self-service' approach to meet colleague needs.
  • Design and deliver engaging induction and onboarding programs that make new hires feel welcome and valued.
  • Develop engaging and innovative e-learning content to capture learners' attention, catering to diverse learning styles, and make the training methods more effective.
  • Provide engaging training experiences in various formats (classroom, online, blended).
  • Assess the continued effectiveness of learning activities and review the quality of learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to align learning initiatives with business goals.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Learning and Development.
  • Understanding and confident use of digital learning technologies.
  • Up-to-date with L&D trends and practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word programs.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable:
  • Proven experience in European Learning and Development.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs for both IT and non-IT roles.
  • Experience working in a blue-collar industry is preferable.
  • Additional European language proficiency (e.g., German, French, Dutch) is appreciated.
