YHA London Oxford Street is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Team Member to join our team. As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional stay.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and preparing bedrooms between guest departures and arrivals, maintaining the cleanliness of all shower and toilet areas, and keeping the hostel reception and social areas clean and tidy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare bedrooms to ensure a fresh and inviting space for guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of shower and toilet areas to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
  • Keep the hostel reception and social areas clean and tidy to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Efficiently and effectively undertake housekeeping tasks to maintain consistent cleanliness standards.
  • Comply with YHA requirements for the use and storage of cleaning products to contribute to our commitment to sustainability.
  • Report any faults or damage to a member of the hostel management team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Sort and distribute used and unused linen to play a key role in our guests' comfort.

Requirements

It's an advantage but not essential for our housekeeping team members to have prior experience in customer-facing roles. Desirable experience in hospitality or customer service is beneficial, and we appreciate the value of lived experiences just as much as skills and knowledge.

Good communication skills are a plus, and excellent time management is essential. Knowledge and understanding of YHA's core purpose and experience working in a team are beneficial.
