Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our Central Mersey diabetic eye screening programme as a Diabetic Eye Screener. As a screener, you will be responsible for running local clinics, photographing patients' eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy, and providing empathetic support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run local clinics for patients and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
  • Provide empathetic support to patients and communicate effectively with them
  • Work independently in a pressured environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
  • Support patients with their eye health and provide guidance on healthy habits
  • Collaborate with the screening team to ensure smooth clinic operations

Requirements

  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and complete necessary training
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
  • A full driving licence and own transport
