Job Title: Transport Planner

As a key member of our transport team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and coordinate the movement of goods across the UK, working closely with our transport and warehouse teams to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient transport plans using our latest Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Manage subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK
  • Plan daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site and out bases
  • Identify and report problems, and deal with issues and queries that may arise
  • Coordinate collections on a time-critical basis
  • Monitor and maintain agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and implement changes as needed
  • Adapt to changing business requirements, particularly during peak periods
  • Effectively utilize the Culina Group network to support Stobart's operations

Requirements:

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • CPC qualification desirable but not required
  • Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer focus on delivery performance
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with a drive to deliver exceptional results
  • Experience of using a TMS system
  • Experience in an FMCG environment
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, including proficiency in standard formulas
