About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Ashton Industrial Sales. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial machinery and production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for industrial machinery and production lines
  • Implement and test control systems to ensure they meet the required specifications
  • Troubleshoot and debug control systems to identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure control systems meet business requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in control systems

Requirements:

  • Experience in control systems engineering, preferably in an industrial automation environment
  • Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI systems, including programming languages such as Ladder Diagrams, Structured Text, and Basic
  • Experience with Ethernet networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN
  • Proficiency in AutoCad Electrical, including creation and editing of BOMs and schematics
  • Ability to accurately read and understand electrical schematics
  • Experience with fault-finding and problem-solving techniques
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Variable Speed Drives/Inverter systems, preferably B&R or Omron/Yaskawa
  • Experience with FAT and SAT testing (Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance)
  • Experience with on-site installation and testing work, including UK and overseas
  • Ability to write technical manuals or documents
