Job Opportunity: Community Health Worker with Health Visiting Team

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Community Health Worker to join our Health Visiting team in the South Hams. As a Community Health Worker, you will support families with children aged 0-8 years, working with them individually or in groups in community and home settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support families with their child's development, including carrying out 1 and 2 1/2 year development reviews
  • Integrate with Health Visitors, School Nurses, and Staff Nurses to support whole family assessments
  • Offer health promotion and development topics, such as behaviour management, toilet training, and sleep management
  • Work with parents and carers to support their child's health and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • QCF or equivalent qualification or NVQ 3 Foundation degree (Childcare related) or equivalent
  • Comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding and knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme
  • Passion for working with children and commitment to ongoing professional development
